This CPD session will discuss the limitations associated with 2D imaging and the justifiable reasoning to use 3D imaging to aid treatment planning and learn how CBCT can assist your diagnosis.

On Tuesday 11th May, Dr Tamer Theodossy will be joining us at Cavendish Imaging Harley Street to deliver Limitations of 2D imaging in Oral Surgery.

Mr Tamer Theodossy graduated from the University of Jordan with honours in 1997. Subsequently he obtained a Masters Degree in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery with distinction from the Eastman Dental Institute in 2000. He also gained his Membership from the Royal College of Surgeons of England.

Mr Theodossy did his specialist training in the field of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at University College London Hospital and Great Ormond Street Hospital. Since 2006 he has been appointed to various NHS Consultant posts around the UK. Mr Theodossy is currently in Private Practice in various hospitals across London and Bath. He is recognised by the General Dental Council (UK) as a Specialist in Oral Surgery.

He is also recognised by the Jordanian Dental Association as a Specialist in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. He speaks fluent Arabic and has published widely in both national and international journals.

Aims

  • Discuss different image modalities used in Oral Surgery and understand their uses and limitations.
  • Interpret certain radiological features on a plain x-ray and be able to determine if further investigation is warranted.
  • Identify when a CBCT scan is needed to assess an area further.
  • Understand how to format a CBCT scan to extract all data needed from it.
