The latest FGDP Guidance Notes for Dental Practitioners on the Safe Use of X-ray Equipment states that annual refresher training on Dental CBCT must be undertaken
This CPD session is mandatory for those who have completed Level One (Core) Training in Dental CBCT and/or Level Two (Further) Training in Dental CBCT Justification and Image Interpretation but will also benefit those involved with Dental CBCT or have an interest in this subject. As part of the enhanced CPD development outcomes, this session links to outcomes C and D.
The aim will be to refresh the participants knowledge of benefits and risks of CBCT examinations which influence the justification of these investigations, to understand how the latest IRMER 2017 legislation impacts on CBCT procedures, and to review diagnostic interpretation of small volume CBCT.
Please ensure you read our non-refund policy prior to booking this course.
*Cavendish Current Referrer Discount will be reimbursed to you once we establish whether you are a current referrer (referring 5 scans in the last 6 months)
Aims:
- The principles of radiological imaging
- The fundamentals of 3D imaging and dental CBCT radiography
- Radiation hazards and radiation protection
- Referral criteria for 3D imaging
- Regulations relating to dental CBCT imaging
- Appreciation of the different diagnostic yield with increased hazards presented by dental CBCT imaging
- Optimisation in CBCT
This CPD session can also satisfy the guidelines surrounding refresher training and that IRMER practitioners and operators are to undertake continuing education and training after the Level One or Level Two qualification. For those involved with dental CBCT, it is suggested that as a minimum, about one of the recommended five hours of verifiable CPD in radiology and radiation protection should be specific to dental CBCT.
